EL VINO FLEET STREETThis wine shop with attached wine bar and lunch room, serving an extensive range of wines as well as "home-cooked" food, became famous as the daily haunt of newspaper Editors and Journalists. They still come, but are greatly outnumbered by Solicitors, Barristers and their clients. Rumpole of the Bailey immortalised it as "Pomeroys" and used it as his second home.
There is a discreet television (picture but no sound) - cricket, racing and tennis with a good glass of wine has proved to be a great success! Fleet Street also offers a limited number of outdoor tables during the summer months.

Only 30 yards from Blackfriars Tube Station. The style and tradition remains as in our other premises. Since the cellar restaurant and its kitchen are large we are able to offer an attractive and broad selection of delicious "home-made" food. Choose from either a full service a la carte menu which changes monthly, or quicker hot and cold snacks and sandwiches. The whole area is also available for private evening functions. Evening wine tastings and tutored tastings are available on request.
Our outside tables offer a pleasant reprieve from the stress of the office during the summer months, while during colder weather a private room is available, where you can try your hand at bar billiards!

This ancient listed building pre-dates the Great Fire of 1666 and is the oldest wine house in the city; originally it was a merchants house. Much later, Dickens came here to meet his friends and smoke a clay pipe, perhaps even to find inspiration for Oliver Twist. Part of the cellars are even older and provide unique surroundings and atmosphere for our Candlewick Restaurant. It is believed that smugglers used the old tunnel to the river which was unearthed during building operations a few years ago. It is a hidden gem in the heart of the City, well worth a visit if you appreciate good wine and food in a charming atmosphere.

A convivial meeting place with over 170 wines, (which we have selected, shipped and cellared) available for consumption on the premises. This provides an opportunity (over a suitable number of visits!) to choose your favourites for us to despatch to your friends, business associates or to treat yourself at home.

This is the latest addition to the El Vino portfolio, although we have had links to this lovely winebar for many years. In many ways we have gone back to our roots with Ruskins, as Mark Lane was the location of the first ever El Vino Tasting House, and an area well known for Wine and Spirit Merchants in the latter part of the nineteenth century. Located conveniently within easy walking distance of Tower Hill, Liverpool Street and Monument, this is an ideal venue for corporate entertaining and parties with a well-proportioned function space.
